ABOUT ME

Paula Määttä is a Performance Costume graduate from the Edinburgh College of Art. Born in the Finnish countryside, she gained life and work experience within the fashion world when living in a lively Copenhagen, Denmark and doing a showroom internship for Acne Studios before relocating to historically rich Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2019. 

 

Artistic from a young age, she attended an extra-curricular school of Fine Arts, focusing on acrylic painting, and later in 2016 took a course in English Drama. While performing on stage, she found passion for styling and stage costuming and decided to complete a degree in costume design. After finishing her degree Paula gained confidence and experience in leadership roles and is now eager to pursue a career in costume.

 

As a fan of fantasy, Paula's design work is often inspired by her love for nature and enthusiasm to learn about the myths and history of various cultures. Her favourite areas within costume are working on various textile manipulations and embellishments and costume construction.
