ABOUT ME
Paula Määttä is a recent Performance Costume graduate from the Edinburgh College of Art. Born in the Finnish countryside, she gained life and work experience within the fashion world when living in a lively Copenhagen, Denmark and doing a showroom internship for Acne Studios before relocating to historically rich Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2019.
Artistic from a young age, she attended an extra-curricular school of Fine Arts, focusing on acrylic painting, and later in 2016 took a course in English Drama. While performing on stage, she found passion in styling and costumes and decided to pursue a career in costume design.

As a fan of fantasy, Paula's design work is often inspired by her love for nature and enthusiasm to learn about the richness of various cultures. Another of her greatest passions is music, which is the primary source of inspiration for her clothing designs outside the studies. When designing, Paula wishes to bring up complex topics and subjects in society in hopes to spark a more open conversation.
